The
G6 laser moisture system in a real
breakthrough for moisture and Carbon Dioxide measurement in Natural Gas,
representing a watershed in gas analysis.
Powered by a precision Tunable Diode Laser, the analyser is very specific to
the measurand, and highly resistant to contamination such as Methanol.
As there are no contact parts, the response time is instantaneous,
with only the inertia on the process and sampling slowing down the response.
This allows forward notice of and problems, or in the case of a plant shut down,
for production to re-starts hours earlier. Naturally massive savings can be
made.
The laser sources are highly consistent; combined with state of the art processing power and design, the long term stability is remarkable, and so regular calibration is not required.
Where natural gas is very rich or heavily contaminated it is important to ensure aerosols are removed and liquid condensates are formed. To ensure optimum performance IMA have developed a very successful sampling system with high levels of filtration and protection.
Probably the most useful feature of the
SpectraSensors analysers is the ability to 'dump' the measured spectra and all the
measured variables to a PC. This allows an engineer to physically see the
moisture absorption, or e-mail the data for Remote Diagnosis. To further facilitate
remote operation, IMA have developed a remote interface so the analyser can be
fully controlled from a local instrument room or control room. As the
remote interface is PC base is can then be linked to the internet through either
a network or telephone modem and the analyser can then be remote controlled from
either IMA or SpectraSensors. On the rare occasion where the analyser needs
maintenance problems can then be diagnosed and repaired without the expense and
delays of flying personnel to site.
